Message: I am doing a project for residential solar water heating I am looking for information about how much BTU/hr or BTU/day we can expect out of a 4 panel system with 30 tubes each. Our location is Juneau, Alaska and the heating system will be for the radiant heating with an outdoor air source heat pump as back up. Could possibly do domestic hot water heating too if we can get enough btu/hr and supply temp from the solar panels. Let me know what kind of information you have that could help me out. Hi Ryan, The SunRain TZ58/1800 30R which is one collector with 30 solar evacuated tubes the Btu rating per hour is max 7500 btu per hour. For 4 collector system maximum btu per day from our collectors is 7500 x 4 collectors x 6 hours of light energy available = 180,000 Btu per day. Copy of SRCC rating on our collectors for you to review. I would suggest you connect to your domestic hot water system to receive the 30% direct federal tax credit. Please send me your home dimension and number of people using domestic hot water daily what size is your existing hot water tank how is that heated. Is you heat pump run by electricity?
