HIGHEST EFFICIENCY HEATING

The thermal battery can be loaded by any energy means such as solar thermal, solar PV, Heat pumps and traditional gas or electric boilers. However, the pairing with an Air to Water heat pump such as the Arctic Heat Pump have the greatest savings potentials. The Arctic Heat Pump can work in temperatures as low as -30 C (-22F). The energy savings of this EVI heat pump technology is 60-80% better than any other gas or electric system and can take advantage of time of day shifting to provide even more savings. Pair this with high temperature solar thermal collectors such as our vacuum tubes and you have perhaps the most efficient heating system on the planet!

The Arctic Heat Pump is both the leader in cold weather performance and high temperature production, making it the ideal engine for the P58 SunAmp Thermal Battery. With operating temperatures as high as 85 degrees Celsius, the Arctic Heat Pump is able to load the SunAmp Battery to a full charge in temperatures as cold as -30 degrees Celsius. For Climates with colder temperatures, we offer an electric back up system, that typically is only required less than 5% of the heating season in Canada and Northern USA. Best of all the Arctic Heat Pump has a COP of 3 or more meaning it consumes only 300 watts of electrical energy to make 1000 watts of thermal energy!
